Recently, Dr. Madeline Dana Lee started as a Post-Doctorate with the Department of Geoscience and Petroleum. She is developing a multiscale (micrometer to kilometer) approach to understand the effect of magnetic remanence and microstructures on the measured magnetic signal, and ultimately inversion modelling. This will include the acquisition of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) magnetic survey in 2021 to corroborate previous field surveys. Her supervisor is Prof. Suzanne McEnroe, Department of Geoscience and Petroleum.
Madeline completed a Ph.D. in Geophysics at McMaster University, Canada and was the recipient of the Avadh Bhatia Women in Physics Post-Doctorate Fellowship from the University of Alberta, Canada. Following her Post-Doctorate, she joined the National Research Council of Canada’s Flight Research Laboratory as a lead researcher in magnetic and thermal payloads on manned and unmanned aerial vehicles for civilian and defense applications. She is also the former Vice-President of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and Early Career Member of the American Geophysical Union Development Board.
