PhD fellow Lena Selen successfully completed her PhD defense the 24th of November. The evaluation committee was very satisfied with her thesis work, her trial lecture and PhD defense presentations and the discussions she had with the committee. The committee has announced that her PhD work was very successful.
Her PhD research title was: “Assessment on the swelling and disintegration potential of weak and weathered rocks in water tunnels of hydropower projects – a contribution based on use of laboratory testing methods”
Professor Krishna Kanta Panthi, Department of Geoscience and Petroleum, has been the candidate’s main supervisor, and Associate Professor Siri Stokseth, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has been the candidate’s co-supervisor.
Professor Bjørn Frengstad, Department of Geoscience and Petroleum (NTNU) administrated the PhD committee.
The Assessment Committee consisted of Professor Massimo Coli, Universita Degli Studi di Firenze, Italy, Dr. Guro Grøneng, Norwegian Geotechnical Institute and Professor Bjørn Frengstad, Department of Geoscience and Petroleum (NTNU).
