Welcome Mustafa

Mustafa Guner has joined the Department of Geoscience and Petroleum at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) to undertake a 3-year PhD-project in the field of Mineral Processing Engineering. The supervisor is Przemyslaw B. Kowalczuk (Professor, Department of Geoscience and Petroleum – Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU) Mustafa’s research “RFC-Upscaling Proposes the Reflux Flotation Cell» aims to evaluate a newly designed flotation machine which is Reflux Flotation Cell (RFC) with the Cu-Ore coming from the copper site of KGHM and flotation parameters will be tested on lab-scale and pilot-scale experiments. Positive or negative consequences of using RFC will be discussed using those data in terms of capacity and recovery increase, water consumption, the content of concentrates and tailings.
The project is funded by EIT Raw Materials and FL Smidth & Co. A/S (Denmark) and KGHM Polska Miedz Spólka Akcyjna (Poland) are partners of the project.
Mustafa has B.Sc and M.Sc in Mineral Processing Engineering from Department of Mineral Processing Engineering, Istanbul Technical University (Turkey). He worked as an R&D Metallurgist in the metallurgical laboratory of a gold production company in Eskisehir (Turkey) for two years.

Welcome, Mustafa!
