Przemyslaw (Pshem) has been hired as a professor in minerals engineering at the Department of Geoscience and Petroleum (IGP). He took a MSc in Materials Science (hydrometallurgy) at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, in Poland, and then continued with a PhD in Minerals Engineering (flotation) at the same university. In May 2012 Pshem defended, with honours, his PhD thesis, and then spent six months in the scientific group of Prof. Hylke J. Glass at the Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter. In 2016, he was awarded a Doctor of Science degree (DSc, habilitation) for contributions to the scientific literature. In 2012-2021 he worked, first as an assistant professor, and then as an associate professor at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology in Poland. In 2017-2021 he worked as a postdoc in mineral processing (marine minerals) at IGP. In 2018 he was invited by Prof. Stoyan Gaydardzhiev as a guest lecturer and researcher at the University of Liege in Belgium. In 2019, Faculty of Applied Science of University of Liege awarded him as the honorary collaborator for the academic year of 2019-2020. Pshem is also hired as a guest professor at the School of Minerals Processing and Bioengineering, Central South University in China.
Pshem has been extensively working on mineral processing and hydrometallurgy with recent focus on processing of marine minerals and REEs. At NTNU he will be participating in several European projects (EIT RM Reflux Flotation Cell; Harare; EIT RM DSM-Summer School), supervising students, PhDs and postdocs.
