Bjarte Grindheim has been hired as a PhD-candidate at the department.
Grindheim is going to undertake a 4-year PhD in the research project ROCARC in the field of rock mechanics and rock engineering. The research is going to investigate deep rock anchoring, with focus on failure modes in the rock mass around the anchors and in the rock-grout bond. This will be done through lab tests, field tests and numerical modelling. The main supervisor is Charlie Chunlin Li (NTNU) and co-supervisor is Are Håvard Høien (Norwegian Public Roads Administration).
He finished a master’s degree in engineering geology and rock mechanics at NTNU in July.
Welcome Bjarte!
