Gwenn Peron-Pinvidic has been hired as an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Geoscience and Petroleum. She did an engineer school in geophysics and a Master in geology before getting her PhD at the University of Strasbourg, in France. Gwenn then did a first post-doc in the US, at the Woods Hole institute near Boston, and a second post-doc at Total in Paris, before coming to Norway and the NGU in 2008.
Gwenns research focuses on the geodynamics of rifting, the formation and evolution of rifted margins and lithospheric break-up. She combines seismic reflection interpretation with potential field modelling and onshore analogues knowledge to study extensional processes in terms of tectonic structures, stratigraphic geometries and magmatic content.
Gwenn is French, have two children and live in Klæbu.
