Norwegian oil and gas may reach new record

After oil production has fallen steadily since 2004, Rystad Energy now estimates that total oil and gas production will be at a record high in 2024, see article in E24. The Johan Sverdrup field is of course the biggest contributor to this, but in addition, many minor developments contribute. Equinor expects to drill as many wells in the next 10 years that were drilled in the last 50 years.

He commented on the recruitment to petroleum studies and the BRU21 program,  that will prepare multidisciplinary specialists in the corresponding areas to increase efficiency, safety and environmental care in all operations in oil and gas activities.
