New students

Around 8,000 new students were enrolled at NTNU today and
participated in  formal ceremonies at Gløshaugen and Dragvoll. The new students to the program Petroleum Science participated then in the traditional and informal sandwich-and-soda reception at the department, where teachers led by Egil Tjåland  welcomed the students and presented details related to the study program and the prospects for oil and gas operations.

Scottish web newspaper Energy Voice publishes interview with NTNU on the oil crisis

Nettavisen Energy Voice in Aberdeen contacted NTNU to get a statement relating to the Bloomberg article about the oil crisis in Norway. Egil Tjåland and Jon Kleppe had a telephone meeting with journalist Phil Allan yesterday and interview published in today’s edition of Energy Voice.

Web paper has article on the drop in applications for petroleum related studies in Norway

The web paper e24 has an article on the large drop in the number of applicants to the petroleum-related studies in Bergen, Stavanger and Trondheim. Egil Tjåland is interviewed about high admission criteria despite the large decline in the number of applicants for Petroleum at NTNU. See article in e24.
