Symposium on CO2 storage and EOR at Kirkebyfjellet

Through the INTPART-project between NTNU and the University of Calgary, the first symposium on advanced research and education within carbon storage and enhanced oil recovery in ongoing at Kirkebyfjellet in Meråker, 22 and 23 november.

Participants from NTNU, University of Calgary, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, Gassnova,  SINTEF Petroleum, CMR, PFI and Statoil are gathered to discuss ongoing initiatives and future collaboration.

NTNU participants: Ole Torsæter, Martin Landrø, Philip Ringrose, Reidun Cecilie Aadland, Bahador Najafiazar, Ashkan Jahanbani Ghahfarokhi, Hamid Hosseinzade Khanamiri, Alberto Luis Bila, Katie Aurand, David Wehner and Patrick Reurink.

The project is funded by the RCN and SIU through the INTPART program.

The November Conference 2016 in Rio was arranged this week

This is the 4th conference in a row. It is arranged by the SINOS alliance, consisting of IFE, IRIS, NTNU, SIMULA, SINTEF and UiO for the purpose of building networks between Norwegian and Brazilian research groups and to initiate research collaboration.  The program for the 2016 conference may be seen here. Ashkan and Bahador are presenting their research in Abingdon

Schlumberger annual EOR Workshop is this year titled EOR New Frontiers and is held in Oxford. The department is invited to contribute with presentations and postdoc Ashkan Jahanbani Ghahfarokhi and PhD candidate Bahador Najafiazar are both presenting their work with “water diverting gel”, both experimentally and by simulation. The November Conference 2015 is completed

This year’s conference is the 3rd in a row and its objective is to promote research collqborqtion betwenn  Brazil and Norway. It is arranged by the SINOS consortium, a collaboration project between NTNU, SINTEF, UiO, IFE, IRIS and Simula, together with several Brazilian universities and state organizations, as well as Innovation Norway, NRC, SIU and the Norwegian General Consulate in Rio. See the program. Patrick Reurink and Jon Kleppe participated in the session Integrated Operations.

The PETROSAM 2015 Conference was arranged at NTNU today

The Research Council’s program for social research related to petroleum activities arranged their annual conference for 2015, entitled ”The future perspectives of oil actives and Norway” in Realfagsbygget today. A number of key players in industry and research gave presentations, see the program here. From the department attended Egil Tjåland, Martin Landrø, Ståle Johansen, Patrick Reurink and Jon Kleppe.
