The Ivar Aasen field, operated by AkerBP, came on production during Christmas. It contains almost 200 mill. oe. and will produce oil and gas for around 20 years. The field is operated from Trondheim.

The oil company Caelus has made a gigant oil discovery in Alaska. I may contain as much as 6-10 billion bbl. See article in World Oil.
New oil and gas discovery East of Gjøa
Engie E&P Norge has made a new discovery which may potentially be developed with the Gjøa platform, as reported by the NPD.
Unmanned wellhead platform for Oseberg West Flank 2
The plan for development of the Oseberg West Flank 2 (PDO), with reserves of 62 million Boe is filed, and an unmanned wellhead platform with 10 slots, 8 for production and two for gas injection is planned. Unmanned systems can be the solution for more cost effective solutions on the Norwegian shelf. See NPD’s website.
The development of the Johan Sverdrup Field started today
Today the drilling of production wells on the gigantic Johan Sverdrup Field started. The field cmay contain as much as 3 billion bbls. oe., and the production will start at the end of 2019 and produce longer than 2070. The maximum production rate may be as high as 650 mill. bbls/day. OKEA buys 60% of the YME Field
Trondheim’s new oil company, with Erik Haugane and Ola Borten Moe as key owners, is getting closer to operations. OKEA has purchased Repsol’s ownership in the YME Field, and plans a new development scenario with production start in 2017-2018. The oil field has original in place around 300 mill. bbl, and the remaining recoverable reserves are currently estimated at 60 mill. bbl. The upside may be significant.
The Peregrino Field passes 100 mill. bbls.
After only four years in production, the Peregrino Field in Brazil, operated by Statoil, passed 100 million. Barrels. The field is now planned expanded with one new platform. Geo365
